FMB celebrates Chinese mid-autumn festival - 17/September/08

On Sunday night, 14th September 2008,  First Merchant Bank in conjuction with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China celebrated the The Mid Autumn Festival at a colourful event characterized by singing and dining.  The festival is a national celebration of abundance and togetherness that dates over 3000 years; it is a time of relaxation and family reunion and is a public holiday in China. 


Speaking on behalf of the bank, Marketing Manager Mary Chilima stated that “ FMB is honoured to be part of this very important Chinese tradition and we wanted to show that as a bank we are not only concerned with financial matters but with the welfare of the communities we serve in Malawi.  FMB has sponsored this dinner to allow as Chinese families in Malawi to celebrate together away from home.”
