A year has passed since FMB was listed on the stock exchange.  The first published results of the bank as a public company demonstrated strong growth in all areas.  Key highlights of group performance were:

• Deposits increased by 35%
• Lending increased by 61%
• Total assets increased by 47%
• Profit after tax increased by 81%
• Shareholders equity increased by 87%
  

To celebrate this achievement, stakeholders were treated to a well patronized cocktail held at Mount Soche Hotel where the Vice Chairman of the bank Mr Hitesh Anadkat acknowledged the tireless contribution made by Mr Kashinath Chaturvedi, the bank’s Managing Director.

FMB Mobile & Mail

FMB is the first to introduce a unique service that allows customers to access their account information using their mobile phone and e-mail account. The services are called FMB Mobile and FMB Mail respectively.  The services are aimed at making banking more convenient for the banks customers, in line with this objective, the services are being offered for free to all FMB customers.

First Merchant Bank Listing on the Stock

On 19th June 2006, First Merchant Bank was admitted to the official list of the Malawi Stock Exchange following a highly successful initial public offering.  The offer was two times over subscribed and attracted in excess of 2,300 new shareholders.
